Good progress

I meant to put up these photographs a few weeks ago but with life in general things get waylaid....though they eventually get done.

Its the first year Ive grown vegetables in my urban garden, or "orto" if you prefer italian, here in Cork city. I was fairly optimistic about the year so planted artichoke, courgettes and small french bean plants...my optimism even stretched to butternut squash but also being realistic I planted some good old spuds.

                         

Potatoes of the Sante variety really got going after a few weeks, the fine june weather really helped. I got the seed potatoes from fruithillfarm.com in west cork, they do loads more but order early.

Little Garden

This is my second year living in a house with a garden and i love it. I planted seed potatoes two months ago and i was thrilled to see them burst through the earth...

                                          

                                     

Changing focus

Dearest internet,
after starting this blog five years ago with one post and five years trying to post a second I've decided to change focus. I hope to post simple musings, photos and short pieces that inspire me. Enough complaining and focusing on the wrongs, let us see the beauty in the blossoming flower instead.

From now on I'm going to check myself so that I'm living up to my ideal of the man I want to be.

Digging deep.

Well I've done it, finally starting my own blog after threatening it on the world for an eon. But when to begin and what's the motivation?

Of recent times many of the nationalist and Catholic/ Gaelic publications in Ireland have disappeared, leaving me with more time to myself but also leaving our views and beliefs silent in terms of the Media. This is my main motivation to add a voice to hopefully shout back against the tide....the silent majority need to become vocal, this is my first step and I'm hoping others will join in and let their opinions be heard. The silence is deafening...!!!!

How our lives are being tossed around hopelessly has been brought sharply into focus by the global financial crisis ( read Banking debt culture and wealth centralisation ). This has got to end, we have to take the power back into our hands.

I hope to search out truth in all areas from politics, religion, G-d and evolution, I want to be as honest and fair as possible.

So now I've begun...
